American Data Network PSO has released a new healthcare tip clip designed to help hospital staff build and manage an effective huddle system that perpetuates timely, thorough communication regarding patient and staff safety issues organization wide.
The huddle is a proven error-reduction tool that allows a team pause — to come together to identify risk and decide whether to proceed or redirect actions to avoid harm. The video, Making the Most of Safety Huddles, focuses specifically on the benefits of the Three-Tiered Huddle System which facilitates a cyclical stream of information among frontline staff, managers and directors, and leadership.
The Huddles tip clip is one of multiple educational resources that ADNPSO has developed in correlation with it’s year-long Good Catch campaign, which is helping hospitals significantly increase near miss reporting so that they might better understand process and system vulnerabilities and ultimately develop data-driven improvement activities.
